Spinning rod suggestions needed.

I have always liked Lamiglas rods and need some advice.
I just moved to Los Banos, CA and the O'neil forebay is really close by. It is a reservoir that has some really large striped bass. Catfish and Smallmouth-largemouth bass. Trout and white sturgeon.
I have not done much fishing in the last 7 years and do not currently own any equipment for fishing.
I am really wanting to get back into fishing and with the reservoir so close by I would like some advice on rod selection so I can pick up some equipment for myself and my 17 year old so we can go together.
I have talked with a couple guys that fish the lake and the information I have received was this.
The top water action for stripers is really fun in the late evenings from late summer through the winter.
Topwater lures weigh between 1/2 oz. and 2 oz and a good length to get the lures out there is 8'6" in a med-heavy action.

So I'm looking for a spinning rod, 8'6" long or so. ( to get good distance with light line)
To cast topwater lures and maybe fish from the bank once in a while bottom fishing for catfish or stripers with either live bait or 1 to 1.5 oz of lead.
I'll be using a shimano stradic 3000 with 8 lbs line. (Maybe 10 lbs.)
Any and all advice is much appreciated!!!

Thanks.
