Anchor River rookie needs baitcasting rod/reel for silvers

I'm learning how to fish for silvers on the Anchor River in Alaska. This year I used a 5/6 fly rod and rim control fly reel loaded with 20 lb. mono to pitch, flip and drift eggs. This setup, once I got it tuned up, consistently caught fish at the break of day. It didn't work as well at other times of the day. Since the part of the river I fish is effected by the tides, I want to learn how to fish whole and cut plug herring. I know this technique works. I fish off the bank. Casts are less than 50 ft; accuracy counts. I'll pitch, flip, drift and cast mostly eggs and small herring. Please suggest a combination of baitcasting rod/reel, esp. less expensive options? Thanks.

I think the MBC86MH is a good

I think the MBC86MH is a good all around rod for your application. It is light tipped but has pleanty of power.
