I am wondering what happened to the big fish bfc 66 h (heavy)....I only see an extra heavy version. Im looking for a rod replacement and would have purchased this model if available. I think I may have found one in Washington, but haven't officially gotten hold of the company and am afraid I wont. Anyway, Im in Connecticut. I fish Long Island Sound, spending most of the time fishing "The Race" with 16 ounce hammered diamond jigs for striped bass and bluefish with the occasional trip north for Cod. I typically fish 50 lb mono, with Penn 113 H reels. Would the bfc 66xh be overkill? I also saw the Sardina models which might fit my need, however,Im just not ready to spend $$$ on a purple rod. I actually am "shade blind", but my girlfriend pointed out the purple. Ive always stuck with 6' 6" rods because 50% of my fishing is on smaller boats like the one in my profile pic with up to 3 other friends and they seem to meet my needs. I didn't consider a 7' rod. Hope this helps with making suggestions!

We stopped making the BFC66H do to low sales. Everyone was just buying the 7". The 66XH is going to be too heavy. The newer sardinas are (now discontinued) are silver and look just like the BFC rods. The 6'6 in that would work great if you can find one.
