I am looking at the Excel XL-735 for Frog fishing in the California Delta. I want a rod that has a soft tip to throw a frog, but has enough backbone to pull a bass out of the thick slop we have here. know it is a 5 for power, which is @ MH, but a lot of Frog rods are heavy to extra heavy. I am hoping this has enough backbone to do the job. What do you know about this rod?
