I recently broke a 1083 fighting a sizeable striper and I want to replace it with something that will fill the light plugging niche that I need, but that will prove to be a bit more durable. I want to stay away from the Arra factory series, so the 1084 is out. The Surf & Jetty XS91 felt too heavy and too similar to the XS10 I already have. I did pick up the SS91 MHS and really liked it. However, the SS91 MLS seems like it would be a more direct replacement of the 1083, but from what I've read here will have the power to battle a 25 lbs. bass without snapping in two. Any thoughts?
