13' cert. pro for light lining springs?

Yeah, I got the freedrifting bug this past spring. I've got the 13' cert. pro (4-8) but wouldn't dare take it fishing for Springs. That said, the old timers @ Barrier seemed confident in the rod as there were 3 of them amidst the 9 guys chucking roe that must be confident in the ability of that rod. I've been pleased with 12 foot 6-12 but it's a bit too heavy held in the air for hours on end. Thoughts?

The X 13 LS is a very light

The X 13 LS is a very light duty rod. I do know of several people using them for this very application I have used it for Winter Steelhead several times. the X 13 LS in several occasions proved to wear down the fish in short order. As long as you are not over working the rod I would think the rod would hold up great. Of cource there would be a time and a place to use that rod. I would not cast any heavy lead with it. Just know the limits of what the rod will do. I hope this helps Have a great day.
