Blank for ulua pole

would like to know which lamiglass blank would be the best for ulua fishing . I know they used the 3M blank before but that blank had a slow taper . I am looking for a quick recovering rod in the 13 to 14 ft range. The reel I will be using is a Newell 550 4.6 with 80 lb test .

The GSB 180 2M or the GSB 180 2MH Both would be a great choice they are going to be a lot faster blank then the traditional all glass blanks. We also make a completed rod out of these blanks made for Ulua. They are the XS 15 MHC. I hope this helps have a great day.

Hello Dane,

After some discussion I think I might have read your post wrong the first time. I was under the assumption you were looking to avoid a glass blank for this application. Although the graphite might recover a little faster, the best choice for your Ulua fishing would still be one of our glass blanks for their strength and durability. You would want to look at something out of the Fiberglass Surf section.
