What size reel do you recommend for your 9'6" certified pro JS? I'm using a Pfleuger GX-7 30 series reel and the rod feels like it wants to touch the water constantly. I can't keep it level without strain. If you could tell me the proper weight I should look for that would be great.

The Pfleuger should do the trick, but try using a Stradic or Okuma Epixor EF 30B, or 40B. You might take the rod into the tackle shop and find one that balances out the rod to your satisfaction

Thanks for the advice. Ended up with a Shimano Saros 3000, and it's perfectly dialed in. Handled a few fish last week well!
