I just wanted to post a note to say I am very happy with my new Excel Rods. I have purchased 15 rods to replace my entire arsenal of St. Croix and All Star rods and could not be happier. The performance and feel is far superior to what I have been using, and at the price point it is a real deal. If I had one hope/suggestion, I would like to see a6 and 6.5 Ft offering in a 3 and 4 power casting. There are times when close quarters make it a little easier to with the shorter rod. All and all, these are great, and I am making the adjustment to the 7 and 7.3 lengths.

Not to fear the 6'6" models will be coming soon.

This is great news. I don't like throwing small spinnerbaits, poppers, or jerkbaits on 7ft rods. a single 603 would be pretty cool too. I will be on the lookout!

Howdy !
It's awesome to hear the series will add 6-6 models. A topwater/jerkbait and target casting model will dial us in for smallmouth set ups. I fished the Columbia last week and used my 705 glass alot. Love that rod ! Disregard my prior comment on the 702 spinning being too light. TomK was drop shottng with his. It's spot on. Bought one yesterday. I'm an XL764C away from total consciousness. One of the things Lamiglas has going for it is they listen to their customers and try to meet our wants and needs.
Good fishin Jwaller1 !!
Thanks for the well wishes buddy. I am VERY happy to report I won my 1st Anglers Choice Team event for 2010 on the upper Chesapeak Bay this past Sunday. I was frog fishing with my new Excel 735C and boy did it do the job. I was a little concerned that the rod was a bit stiff for really working the bait, but when they blew up on the bait it got it done big time! I drug a 6 pounder about 35 Yards thru the thickest grass and right in the boat. I ended up weighing in 22.4 and everything came on Frogs in bifgtime slop.
I am getting more satisfied everyday. Good fishing to you all too!
