my local tackle store doesn't carry all the different lamiglas crankin' rods so i'm not able to check out for myself in person. what are the differences between the skeet reese SR705R, certified pro XCF705 and XCF705R? specs-wise, they all very similar. other than appearance, do these rods feel all about the same or are they quite different?

Hello
Both the SR 705 R and the XCF 705 R are very similar actions. As far as the XCF 705 They are a little lighter in the tip portion of the rod. hope this helps have a great day.

Give the XMG722 a look, its a great cranking rod, although not my favorite for deep divers.
The CC703 is a great deep diver crankbait rod, and its cheap. Although I wish you guys (Lamiglas) would put a hook keeper on them!!
thanks for the help. i guess i was a tad confused because the lamiglas 2007/08 catalog calls the XCF705R a crankin' rod but this website calls it a rippin' rod.
thanks for the suggestion on the XMG but i prefer glass rods for crankbaits. i was actually looking at the CFC685 for crankin'...felt a lot like the XCF705R i already have.
The XCF705 (and XCF665 - 6'6" model) were first on the scene and great for smaller cranks, topwater, ripbaits and spinnerbaits. The XCF705R was created for a slightly heavier action for deeper diving cranks and is an awesome Rip Bait Rod (this is where the 'R' came from). Skeet Reese loves this rod and wanted Lamiglas to leave his personal ones in the natural yellow fiberglass color that the material is available in. Then, after many people started seeing Skeets yellow rod on T.V. Lamiglas kept getting asked for it so the Skeet Reese Signature model SR705R was born. A second rod, the 7'6" SR765R was later created for Skeet for LONGER CASTING. So, he uses the 7' for more target casting and the 7'6" for covering lots of water in open flats and across points.
