Just purchased a 9' XS9MHS surf rod, lookiing to put a Van Staal 150, 200 or 250 just dont know witch, need a little help.

I have the Super Surf version

I have the Super Surf version of the same rod & also a Super Surf 10' medium action. I have been using a VS 200 on both rods last season.

The VS 200 has worked out really nicely on both rods.

Recently I have also purchased a VS 150 & will now be using it on the 9 footer for a "lighter" setup.
The VS 200 will now be dedicated to the 10 footer.

To answer your question, I would go with the VS 200, as it is a great all around reel.
Should you decide in the future to get a Lami 10 foot rod you could switch it between the two rods as I did.

BTW You are going to LOVE the VS, enjoy!
