I was wondering what the lightest spinning rod (line weight) would be to bring to the Nushagak River. Mainly i will be useing a spinning rod. I have a Rogue River baitcasting rod 10-20lb already that i can use when pulling plugs, but looking to pick up 2 more Lami's in the spinning version to bring and i would like to buy one that is as light as i possibly go, but yet has some backbone.

I forgot to mention that i will be fishing from a boat mostly, some bank fishing i'm sure. The method from the boat will probably be spin-n-glos w/eggs
Are you talking about line weight/power or rod construction?
No one knows as much as all of us.
Are you talking about line weight/power or rod construction? I assume we're talking about the chinook fishery.
No one knows as much as all of us.
Yes Chinook fishery. From what I hear typical size of these fish are 20-25lbs with some caught in the 30-50lbs range. I was thinking line weight/power for rod.
The G 1313-S Mag Taper, if I remember right, used to be called the Kenal Guide model in both the casting and spinning rods. Very nice rods for Alaska.
