i have a stradic on mine and would not put it on there again for me the diawa emblem pro 5500 cast a mile with 40# POWER PRO, and can very easily hold 320 yards if not more, and just seems to be a perfect fit to the rod not bailless but really really nice reel, and fairly cheap much less expensive than a van staal or a saltiga but just as nice in my book. the only thing you might run into with the plugs in the reel is a little on the heavy side, but if you don't mind that, the reel is one of the best on the market it is worth checking out.

You might look into the Shimano Spheros FB or the Saragosa (sp). They both have a reasonable price and a bailless kit is offered for both. The Van Staal 250 will fit that rod great if it is within your budget.
