Good Day,
I first want to thank Lamiglas for this forum and for all the expertise that "cruises" to help each other. I am on an adventure to create a Bass rod for my Nephew. He is crazy for Bass fishing and I have been taking him for many years now.
I need an application specific rod blank. It needs to be short and stiff. We fish in creeks that are narrow and very stumpy on the bottom. When bass strike it is fast, you have to set the hook and hog'em out. A running fish will cut your line on a stump or limb. With that said . . .
Length: 5'-6" -6'-4"
Action: Fast
Power: Heavy
Sensitivity: Needs to be sensitive.
Reel: Revo S
Line: Power Pro braid 30 or 50lb.
I haven't been able to find a blank with the above specs, so my thoughts ran to finding the right blank but longer and trimming the butt end.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

I'm not aware of any blank with those dementions. The closest I can think of is the Certified Pro 664, a 6'6" 4 power. You might very well have to have a 6-6 blank cut down to 6-4 and custom build your rod. One more option would be to look for an older rod with a pistol grip. They were routinely 5-6 to 6-0 and could be found in heavy actions as worm rods. Check Jann's Netcraft and Anglers Workshop for possible options.
