Vintage Lamiglas Fly rod blank (FL 108 7M ?)

I picked up a vintage lamiglas fly rod blank on ebay last year. I have no idea how to build a blank rod up and had no business buying it.

Here's what I know about it

Stamped on it: FL 108 7M
Color: Dark Yellow/Mustard
Weight: I think it's a 7 weight?
Length: 9 feet (108 inches)
Seller said it was new old stock from a closed fly shop

Anyone know anything about this rod? Would it be cost effective to build this rod up?

Thanks!

-Jay

Lamiglas made fiberglass that

Lamiglas made fiberglass that power and length till just a few years ago. Same Color.
I know of nothing wrong with these blanks that would make them not worth building.

No one knows as much as all of us.

j4y, you are correct in that

j4y, you are correct in that 108 means 108 inches, (9 feet). FL meaning fly. the yellow or mustard color means fiber glass and 7 M has to do w/ power, 7 power medium action. equals 7wt fly line med action.
in terms of value, that is entirely up to you. how does the blank feel? would the built rod work for your application? what do you plan to use it for? and of course, how do you cast? keep in mind that fiberglass has a very progressive/slow action. but they are practically indestructable. you can also build this rod into a very nice spinning rod, depending on what you intend to do with the built rod. so bottom line, if it feels good to you, then "go for it!"

p.s. be sure not to over seat the 2 pieces when putting them together. you should have 1/2" - 5/8" of spigot showing on the bottom piece. this is a common mistake i see on older spigot ferrules.
enjoy. aloha!
