Salmon/Steelhead Lamies

I mainly back bounce and I curently have a G 1000 T and a X 10 MTC. I typically use the X 10 MTC pulling plugs for steelies and carry the G series rod as a back up rod if needed. Does this make sense or should it be the other way around???

Also, I'm interested in purchasing the X 86 MTC Lamie as recent experience has shown that the fast action of this rod has produced more winter steelies in the boat! Does this make sense, and if purchased, does it make sense to use my present 2 lamies as strictly salmon rods or are they to light for salmon???

My Dad has used that blank in

My Dad has used that blank in the Perigee color for many years, he's caught everything but fall chinook on it.

No one knows as much as all of us.

I wouldn't mess with success,

I wouldn't mess with success, but those blanks will be a little on the light side when the Summer and Fall Chinook's get into the river. They can handle the avgerage springer just fine.
