I don't remember XMG blanks that length, the IM700 IMP 903 would work very well though. Fast actioned and a bit lighter powered than a comparable mag bass blank rated for the same line. Polished graphite finish. The popping blanks are very versatile and can be used for many more gear choices overall than a comparable mag bass blank.
No one knows as much as all of us.
I don't believe there is an XMG blank over 7'2". There is the 704P which is a popping rod by designation. I own this model. It has a very fast but the tip also has good flex characteristics. I have used it for jerkbaits, traps and shallow to medium running crankbaits. I have not thrown Pop R's with it yet. This rod is extremely light and responsive. It is well suited to smallie fishing. I have landed largemouth over 6 pounds on it with no problems what so ever. The XMG is matt black or " flats" finish. Check out Tackle Tour for the eval they did on the XMG 722C for some idea of the quality of this series.
