tengas, our guide spacing is

tengas, our guide spacing is a great start. use it as starting point then do a static deflection test. this is done by taping your guides were you think they should go then run mono fishing line through the guides w/ a good size wieght hooked on the end of mono hold the rod up and observe that the line does not touch the blank anywere and that there are no flat spots in the line. from here you can add or subtract guides or move them around. keep in mind that all rods are different in terms of action and feel so you will never go wrong if you stick w/ the manufactures specs.

you might also try a CCS

you might also try a CCS test, (Common Cents System). Then go out and cast and recast. Then fine tune your adjustments. Guides go as light and as small as your line well allow to pass threw. For spacing what you have received in number are just starting point. No two rods of the same series and model well react the same. Another hint for placing the stripper guide is to do at least1/2 dozen false cast with just the reelseat and fore gripe installed. Pretend you are casting and stripping line. Where you would grip the line grab the rod. Do this a 1/2 dozen times. On the last cast hold on to the blank, now straighten out your thumb. Above the tip of your thumb measure up 41/2 inches, Mark the blank. This should give you the approximate placement for your Stripping Guide
