Canal Rod

O.K.!! What do you think would be a good set up for a canal guy with a bad back who likes to throw shads, poppers, slugos, ron z, and pencils, from 3/4 oz to 3oz. Should I buy custom or off the shelf? I'm thinking of a new Daiwa 5000 Saltist spinning reel. I'm a big guy who never had a problem with casting distance, until my back started bothering me. THANKS.

StriperVision, What length

StriperVision, What length rod are you thinking of ? A custom or factory built rod will perform well. If your looking for ultimate distance and excellent lure control needed in the Cape Cod Canal, the XSRA 1322-2 rated 1-5oz lures or the new upcoming XSRA 1322 one piece will perform well for you. There are numerous ardent Surfcasters fishing the Canal, enjoy using the XSRA 1322-2 11' two piece. Hope This Helps
