should i buy this lamiglass rod for what i fish for please help

i am thinking about purchasing this CG 89 MHC 8'9" 2ps 3/4-4 15-30 ModMed/Hvy pole for $110 and i would like a pole that has enough back bone to pull in a 30 lb Chinook salmon and be lite enough to bring in some coho or steelhead i was wondering if this pole would be the write one for me? please help me

Hello Chad,

Depending on what you are doing that rod would work great. It is full fiberglass so it is made more specifically as a herring/downrigger/plug rod, but would also fish OK off of the bank. If you are looking to use it primarily as a bank rod you might want to look at something graphite.

i agree with both posts i myself have that same rod and out of the boat its a great rod with great action but off the bank its not quite as good however i caught all 26 of my imnaha river kings off the bank with this rod and i loved it, hope this helps and good fishing
