Whats the Difference? Excel Series

I am new to the site so forgive me if this was already asked. I was looking at the new Excel Series. I am looking for a top water rod and came across this. I usually throw lots of poppers and starting more and more walk the dog style baits. I also throw small hard jerk baits, but love to throw a mag fluke as well. Wondering which of the top-water rod would be better in my situation. Looking at the 7' Med Lt, and the 7' Med Heavy glass. Both say top water and jerk baits, just didn't know what set them apart from each other. Obviously the glass rod is going to be a composite with fiberglass. From what I know (still little new to bass fishing) the med Lt is just gonig to have less of a back bone. I was also thinking about throwing a small 4 inch swim bait as well with my new rod. If anyone has any suggestions or information that will aid me in making my decision, I would greatly appreciate it.

Look in the past posts for info on rods and their applications, lots of good info there. Lamiglas works very hard the keep power and action as close as they can, I bet any info on the Certified Pro rods there would be relevant to your questions. The SR 705 R rod is on the same blank as the Excel glass version you mentioned.

No one knows as much as all of us.
