Spinner Spoon Rod for Washington Winter Steelhead

What rod would you recommend for tossing 2/5 oz spoons and spinners out on the Kalama and Lewis from the Bank? A spinning rod would work better for me as I do not have the skill for a baitcaster. Also what reel would you match the rod up to?

I'd use the X 10 MS. I'd use a 4000 sized reel so you can use 12 lb in the winter and 8 in the summer with smaller offerings. It will let you expand into float or drifting bait as time goes on. A reel that's been used for 25 years and still going strong is the Diawa SS Tournament 1600. Some talk about them like others talk about their old Abu Cardinals.

I'd go with the XMG50 EXS 92M

I'd go with the XMG50 EXS 92M and pair it with a Shimano 3000 size reel, in the Stradic flavor.
