I am looking to build a rod for fishing rockfish, cabezon and Lingcod in the monterey bay (west coast).
I currently have two rigs that Switch between based on water depth and jig weight.
Trevala TVC70ML/Abu Garcia UC6501 for swimbaits and jigs up to 3 oz in water up to 20 fathoms.
Fenwick HMX 7' muskie rod rated 1-4 oz/Penn 321 I use for 4-10 oz jigs in 20-40 fathoms.
I am looking to build a replacement for the heavier stick with a little softer tip so that I can maintain better contact with the jigs on the drop. I am looking for a soft enough tip to stay in contact with the iron and underhand cast 50-100 feet from the boat without snapping the bait off, but also enough backbone to get a ling off the bottom before it can return to its hole.
I am currently looking at several blanks:
Calstar Graphiter GF 700 ML
Lamiglas Sardina I670
Lamiglas Tri-Flex GTF 84 1M
Lamiglas Tri-Flex CGBT 84 1MH
Any information on the suitability of these blanks for my purpose and a comparison of the blanks would be appreciated. Also any other Lamiglas options that may be a better fit for my purpose.

I would recomend the CGBT841M for your application. The GFT841M should do will also.
