I have narrowed my selection down to two rods: XSRA 1205-2 or the XSRA 1322-2. I am new to the surf fishing sceen and want to throw big plugs, bucktails and eels and do not know if I would be better served using a ten or eleven foot rod? I will be fishing the rocky shores of northern Mass. Any advice would be helpfull.

I just finished building a XRA 1322. Before I wrapped it I went to the beach and threw a variaty of plugs. form light plastic swimmers to big ranger plugs. Obviously I didn't try any eels. with a penn INT. 975 with 25# mono the rod cast great and has a good feel to it.

My current surf rod is a GSB 1205 which is a great rod but I going to build a 1322 for myself as it's a superior rod. I like the feel of the extra length, and the superior casting ability.
