Kenai King spinning reel

So i just bought a Kenai King spinning rod and was wondering which reel you would suggest i paired it with. I was looking for the casting version but could not pass up the deal. I was also wondering which application this rod is best suited for, I am primarily fishing the Clearwater river in Idaho for steelhead, which regularly run about fifteen pounds. I pretty much do it all, drifting, bobber and jig, back trolling, etc. I bought this rod as an upgrade from my previous Lamiglas, one of the light blue spinningrods, I wanted a rod able to hold up under our spring chinook run. So any suggestions would be great.

A 5000 or 6000 size spinning

A 5000 or 6000 size spinning reels should have the line capacity you need depending on what size/type line you use.
The rod as you know is more than beefy enough for your application. Flatfish for kings, plunking for any species, backbouncing maybe. Salmon float and drifting should be ok, some of the places you guys salmon fish have very heavy currents, would be excellent there.

No one knows as much as all of us.

Depends on what # line you

Depends on what # line you plan to use, but I would think drift fishing with anything bigger than a 4000 size spinning reel would be a bear and lead to quick fatigue...
