is it ok (no damage) to use braided superlines (like sufix or power pro) with the ron arra surf pro xsra 1205-2 surf rod? does it matter if the line used is from 30 to 50 lbs?

zandersco, There are countless documented 30lb to 60lb+ Striped Bass caught on the one piece XRA 1205. Using 30lb to 50lb braid will not matter if you follow the lure ratings and line ratings on any Lamiglas surf model. Good Fishing

Ron Arra,
Thank you for your response to my inquiry. I like my new 1205-2 very much and am looking forward to fishing with it as soon as possible.

Zandersco, Please don't hesitate to let me know how you do surf fishing. Glad I could help.

Ron (or any reader that knows the answers),
The following post appears elsewhere in the forum:
"Hello, I just ordered a new Ron Arra 1322-2 2 piece surf rod and will be shipping from Lamiglas directly. Do all models shipped from Lamiglas come with Alconite concept guides? Also, how can I tell the difference between alconite and aluminum oxide? I will be using braid on this rod and read that alconite is the preferred guide. Thanks. Jerod"
The Ron Arra Surf Rod listing on the website says:
"Fuji aluminum oxide guides and reel seats perfect the tools."
Please address Jerods issues for us:
"Do all models shipped from Lamiglas come with Alconite concept guides?"
Is the alconite material superior for use with braid?
Thanks.
I don't know if Lamiglas ships with Concept or Oxide, However the Concept Guides are the recomended Guides for Braid line, although the aluminum Oxide will work.
I've been fishing my GSB W/ Oxide guides for several years with Braid and have never had an issue.
I built (2) 1322's over the winter W/ Concept guides and they are great rods. One is being used with Mono and the other with braid. You will not be dissapointed with the rod.
