I have a Tri-Flex BL 7040 C and want a more forgiving upper section of the rod. Do I just downsize one model and go with the BL 7030 C eventhough it has a mod/fast action? Also will you ever make a 2-6oz lure weight, Mod, 7ft model, or something slimilar to the a Shakespear Ugly Stik Tiger Medium action, how about incorperating trigger grips onto these Tri-Flex models? I'm sure some of the Cali Delta Sturgeon fishing folks would like something like that.

You should look at BL 7050LB, or we are just coming out with the BL7040LB. Both have very soft tips as they are designed as live bait rods, but also fish excellent as sturgeon rods. The 7040LB will be a 1-4 oz, and will probably be the closest to the Tiger stick you described.

So are you trying to say that the BL 7040 C is stiffer then your recommendation of the BL 7050 LB? I'm confused since the 7050 carries a bigger lure wt and it's action is a tad stiffer then my 7040 (Mod vs Mod/Fast). Can someone clarify this? Or look at it this way...comparing both rod action of these two, which one has the forgiving action? By the looks of the details given it looks like the BL7040 C has a softer top end section of the tip then the BL7050LB, but I could be wrong.
Thanks much for the feedback.
The 7050LB has a way softer tip on it than the 7040C. The 7050LB has more backbone and has tons of power in the butt section, but has a softer tip then everything else in the series because it is designed as a "live bait" rod which requires a very soft tip. It is an awesome sturgeon rod, and the NEW 7040LB will also be a great sturgeon rod.

I agree. I have both 7040C and 7050LB models. I use both depending on water movement.
