Which Surf Rod?

Looking at getting a new surf rod. Looking at the Ron Arra line. I throw 100% artificials in the 3/4 to 3oz range (bucktails, darters, bottle, pencils poppers, etc). I most oftern throw plugs around 2 oz. What length and size rod would you recommend?

Clarification...What length

Clarification...What length and size rod would you recommend for the heavier plugs (3 oz pencils/darters)?

I have a similar question.

I have a similar question.

I want a spinning rod to use as a "jig stick" on saltwater boats out of San Diego -- stand in the bow and throw 2 or 3 oz "iron" for bonita, barracuda, surface yellowtail, etc..

I'm looking at the 10 foot Tri Flex or the XSRA 1205 ....I'm thinking the Tri Flex would let me lift the barracuda over the rail on a busy bite.....

I plan to use 30 pound braid with 20-30 pound Fluoro leaders

What do you think?

TBR,

Just replied on your other thread.

In the Ron Arra line if you aren't looking to throw more than 4oz, I would look at the XSRA 1205, and the 2 piece version the XSRA1205-2. Both 10' and right in the range you are looking for.

Thanks,

Ryan
