Which of the Certified Pro and G1000 series would be best for an all around (i.e. Driftfishing, Spinners ,Spoons etc.)steelhead/salmon rod? Thanks.

I think if you are looking for a rod to do both, you should look at any of the "Mag Taper's." G 1313 T, or in the certified pro series the X 86 MTC or the X 89 MTC.

I am in the market for a new drift rod and I was considering the Cert Pro X10MTC Bill Herzog model, I also see there is a Dave Vedder X106MHC that has similar specs, I am not familiar with what this rod is for. I know that Bill Herzog is a Drift Fisher so I assume that is the purpose of the X10MTC. Just looking for some direction and info on both of these. The rod I am currently using is great but the warranty sucks, so moving into a trusted brand.

The X 10 MTC would probably make a better drift rod as the X 106 MHC is technically designed as a "float" rod. You could definitely use it as a drift rod, but I think you will find it a little bit on the heavy side. The Herzog is a Mag Taper, so you will find it having a little more backbone with a light tip, so it will give you the feel of a lighter drift rod, but some extra power for those incidental "Big Fish" hookups.
Hope that helps,
