I'm in the market for new rod. I live on Long Island in NY. I'm looking for a rod that I could fish for Black fish, strippers, Blues, and Fluke. I like the spec's on the TRI-flex Graphite saltwater BL6630c and BL7030c. Or should I be looking at the TRI-flex Graphite Inshore TFX7030ct. Also whats the difference between the the BL7030cgh and the BL7030c. I fish mostly on private boats and occasionally on party boats, out of Montauk. I plan on mating this rod up with an Accurate BX2 500 reel w/#20 mono, do you think this reel is overkill for these rods?
Also want to know if their is any advantage of a 6'6" rod over the 7' rod?
ThanX,

I think it all depends on your preference...the triflexes are durable, tough rods. The Bl7030 is a great choice...it's versatile and durable. The inshores are great too, if you especially like the cork handle. I personally use the inshore classics because of the cork handle. I use the tfx7030 with the trigger (personal preference) and use it with rigs and jigging. That Accurate reel is a powerful reel which you would probably save for bigger fish. Newell's are a great reel and aren't too expensive. For toggin' you probably want to use braid.
