i recently purchased a 10' ss101ms...on it i have a penn reel 7500ss with suffix braided line. for some reason i keep getting wind knots,i have to keep cutting my line to rehook,& lost 3 poppers,ive never had that happen before with mono, is this reel compatable with the pole? is the spool to wide as one person suggested? or is it the braided line?

i want to pick up a VS when i can get the money together,but right now i have to use the penn for my weekly montauk trip & i'm getting pretty frustrated and losing alot of money.
