I am looking for a plunking rod(casting rod). I fish the Deschutes River in Maupin, Oregon.
I fish a deep hole with strong current. I use 10 to 12 oz sinkers and bait.
I fish for spring run chinook(avg size 8 to 12lbs) and might use same rod for the fall run of bigger salmon.
I need a 2 piece rod that could handle heavy lead and strong current.
I currently do not own a Lamiglas rod but I am looking for advice on which rod would fit the bill for this particular area of the Deschutes River. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. This would help me this winter when I start the search. Thank you-Brad Mondoy.

Hello Brad
I would run the G1316 T if you prefer a 9' rod Or the G 1318 T if you would rather run a 8'6" rod. Both have plenty of power. And would work out perfect for what you are looking for.
