Best Super Surf for Calcutta 400

I am looking for a well balanced rod/reel combo that will achieve good distance from the beach. I would prefer a 10ft. rod but not sure if the 9ft is a better match for this reel. Any thoughts? Thanks.

How about XS 11 MHC. It's 11ft, rated for 3-8oz. But probably maxes out at 5oz.
I think that would balance out well for all around fishing.
How much weight do you plan to cast?
