I see a lot of recommendations for the EXS96L and EXS96LL, but I been looking at the EXS 106ML ( haven't found one yet ), but don't see any comments or advice for this rod. Is there a reason that this rod doesn't seem that popular. Lately I have been liking the longer rods, that is why I was looking at this rod.
Most of the fishing with be done in the Skagit and maybe Nooksack rivers.
Also for a casting rod I have been looking at the EXC100M.
The plan for these is to be my main two Steelhead and Salmon rods ( minus Chinook ).
What do you guys think?? I can't say exactly what type of fishing I would be doing, I am still figuring out what works for me.
Also looking for a rod for the wife, she likes fishing for the Humpies ( she most likely won't do much steelhead fishing ), we were looking at the MBS106ML, we figured it would work good, just wondering what you guys thought.

Longer rods seem to be used the further north you go. 10 1/2 ft rods are much more popular in Canada and the Great Lakes areas. It's just a preference thing, the more likely you are to have floats, pink worms, micro jigs and maggots, etc. in your fishing vest the longer the rods.
Haven't fished the EXC 10 M, but if it's anything like my Certified Pro M and ML I built in the same lengths it's a winner. The X 10 M is my go to rod for many things, I only go heavier when the conditions warrant it. Heavier lures/presentations, heavy water, real big relative fish sizes, etc.
The MBS is a great value and a nice rod.
No one knows as much as all of us.
Well I can't get much further north without going into Canada, so I should fit right in with the longer rods.
I have two EXC10M-C's, and they are, hands down, the finest steelhead rods I have ever owned.
Fish on...
