CG89MHC as replacement for Fenwick FS89C

I read somewhere that the CG89MHC Classic Glass Lamiglas rod is a close cousin to the old Fenwick FS89C. I recently broke my 36 year old Fenwick and they are no longer made but would like to find something similar. My question is whether this is a close match and also, does this rod have a trigger handle. It appears to have the trigger handle in looking at your catalog which wouldn't be what I'm looking for.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Those CG rods are excellent

Those CG rods are excellent replacements for the old Fenwicks, but like you said, the CH89MHC does have a trigger...but if you step up a few inches to the nine footer, the CG90DR, it's essentially the same rod, but without the trigger...

Fish on...

Thanks, my only question

Thanks, my only question about the CG90DR is the action. I see it has the same lure weight/line weight specifications but is listed as "Heavy" as opposed to Me/Heavy like the CH89MHC. I guess I'll have to go check them out somewhere to see for myself.
