What rod?

I have a Newell S229-5 reel . I am Fishing mostly the Cape Cod Canal Throwing 2- 3 oz plugs I am using a Med Hvy-XS 10 MHC but the guys next to me are casting much farther . I think the rod is to stiff and Im not getting enough load . What rod should i be looking at?

You could probably se benefits for a XS10ms or a XSRA1204.

I am looking for a surf rod

I am looking for a surf rod that will last me long while casting far. I usally cast 5oz. sinker with bait. I am looking to score some big bass. Any help is appreciated.

For thowing 5oz you should

For thowing 5oz you should look at the XS 10 MHS or one of our rods out of the super surf line. SS 10 MHS, or SS 11 MHS.
