Any chance a casting version of this great summer run rod is on the horizon?
"Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it."
Historically light power casting rods have never been real good sellers. All the Woodland based rod companies built them years ago. Few reels in the old days were a good match to light line fishing as far as casting performance. Even today, if you don't take the time, you won't find the gems out there. The good ones also cost much more money than a decent spinning reel.
Fastest way to get what you want is roll your own.
No one knows as much as all of us.
Not sure I totally agree but I hear where you are coming from. Most guys figure if your gonna go that light may as well use a spinner. Would be nice to have a casting option though. The 1082c by that "other" company sells well, and a 9'6" version in the XMG graphite would be nice. In terms of reels, would agree with you 5 years ago, but the new baitcsters have improved so much in performance that even your everyday Curado or Revo can throw the light stuff well...no need to go searching for a Pixy or MG50 anymore...
Official response from Lami? Josh or John? Thx. NCD.
Official response.............................It is something that will be considered for future models, but there is nothing in the works at this current moment. We have had a couple guys build the blanks into casting rods and have been very satisfied with the performance.
