Hello everyone,
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction on this:
I just noticed that the clear coat around the wraps on the bottom eye at the ferrule on my 9' Surf King has begun to crack and break off. I purchased the rod last February so I assume I can still send it in under the 1 year warranty but don't really want to wait as it's my main striper pole right now and I can't afford to buy another to accommodate my 3 time a week fishing. Also hoping that epoxy will cost the same as the required shipping amount from Lamiglas ($20).
Can anyone recommend an epoxy (preferably the same brand used by Lamiglas in the construction of my rod) to repair my rod? Also any tips on the repair (sanding the area, etc.)?
Thanks in advance,
J-

Take it to your local rod builder. He will repair it and have it back to you quicker, for about the same money, than sending it back to Lamiglas.

Don,
Thanks for the info. I ended up buying some Flex Coat High Build finish and am going to repair it myself.
Thanks again,
Jared
