I fish for black fish (tau tog ) alot , most of the time in waters between 30 & 60 feet. I use 6 to 12 oz sinkers and sometimes even up to 16. last season I caught my share but I was not too happy with the current rods im using.I need something sensitive enough to feel the blackfish bite but strong enough to handle the weight of the sinkers. any suggestion are appreciated...thanks

I use the TFX-7650 CT, paired with a small reel (Shimano Ocea Jigger 1000P),,and love it! The rod is very light weight, and still has the backbone to handle 6-12 oz. sinkers. It easily swings fish into the party boat I frequent, but is sensitive enough to feel the lightest taps. I have even used it for offshore Seabass, but it isn't really up to a 20 oz. bank sinker. That said, it still boated double headers from 200ft.!
Can't recommend this rod enough for inshore Blacks,,,Hope this helps.
I use a TFX-7040CT paired with a Avet SX MC with 50lb Spectra Powerpro.
My terminal tackle consist of 4' 50lb Seaguar Fluorocarbon leader, 2/0-4/0 Gamakatsu Octopus Hook, 130lb Spro Swivel, 6oz-12oz Bank Sinkers . I fish in the waters of Rhode Island and Orient Pt. NY.
This is a very light / sensitive but strong outfit. I think this outfit is perfect for all Inshore Bottom fishing.
