More and more people are turning to their salmon rods in order to "go light" for sturgeon. My G series 1310-t has served me well for over twenty years. My Kenai Killer (same vintage) has rarely been used. The 1310 looks a little too light for an all-purpose boat rod, while the Killer seems to have both the heft and sensitivity for light biting sturgeon.
1. Am I right in assessing the capabilities of the 1310? It is an "old friend" that I would hate to loose to ignorance.
2. If not the Killer, than what would you suggest for fishing for 'gators off Astoria using 2-4 oz of weight?
