Don't remember ever fishing or hearing of somplace where you can pick up Kings from the beach in the Sound itself. Rivers funnel fish into a smaller, more defined area so that's where the fishing usually happens. Some on Whidbey Island and other beaches in the area have a history of Coho from the beach.
If no one else pipes up I'll have to go into my fishing diaries for more info as I haven't done any beach Sound fishing in 30 years.

I know I can cast for them from edmonds pier and from pier 86 in ballard. I was wondering if there was a spot you can get ocean run kings from the beach. strait of juan de fuca maybe? I appreciate your response.
