Has anyone who owns this rod found a line WF floating line that matches the action of this rod? I'm currrently running a Scientific Angler WF5 GPX line (considered a half weight heavier line, think 5.5 wt) but with my casting stroke I hqaven't been able to put together both accuracy and distance (granted, my casting technique is not the greatest and really have no business owning an "ultra-fast rod). Any suggestions? How would this rod respond to running a size up...maybe a WF6F Rio Selective Trout II?

Extra fast rods are very tricky. You can't relax and autopilot the cast. I have some very "fast" rods and I would try 6wt line. I've been very happy with Cortland 444SL. Never cared for the GPX line here.
I have built and own a couple of XMG-50's. I have a 5 wt that responds very well to a Cortland Precision Trout Line WF 5F and also the Cortland Precision "Western Drifter" WF 5F. They both have a short fast "Rocket-Taper" in the front that really helps to load this rod, even at short distances. I like the Rio Grande Line, but my experience is that the slick finish wears off too quickly.
Hope this helps!
The GPX is a really good line, but's it's not for every rod or everyone's casting style. I have the WF4F on a med fast rod and it works really well.
I have a 6wt Rio Selective Trout II I could try on the rod. If that doesn't work, which of the Cortland's would be your first choice?
