Fast action 9' stellhead rod

This is my first post on this forum. Have been building all kinds of SW rods for decades. A few years ago I built a
casting rod from a XSA1082H blank. It is an excellent rod for casting lures from about 3/4 oz to 1.5 oz. Heavier lures seem to load it a little too much.
Now I am looking to choose a spinning rod blank for the same lures, maybe up to 2 Oz. I want as fast a 9' rod as is available.
I was considering the GLB1082ML. It is a little heavier than the XSA1082H, has a larger diameter base but about the same size tip. Think it rated for same weight lures but appears to be a little stiffer (faster?) because of the increased weight and larger diamerter base.

The rod is intended to be used for beach casting artificial lures in Ma. and Fl. In the areas I fish, those who can cast the furthest catch the most fish.

I think you hit the nail on

I think you hit the nail on the head, the GLB1082ML would be a great choice for what it sounds like you are needing. Have a great week.
