landed a coho on my xmg sunday. got the fish to the bank went to take the hook out and i heard a pop look up and the top section of my rod is in two pieces. i own 5 lamiglas rods and two xmg's. i have never broke a rod on a fish or anything else. my son took the rod down to lamiglas today as i had to work. im not bashing lamiglas. im just wondering why it takes three weeks just to get a new tip for this rod. this is my primary drift rod. why cant i just upgrade my rod to a si the 9 ft 10 to 12 casting rod. take the rod in return and i pay the difference. i would hope would not be to much. i try and support a local company. but to be honest with you i dont want to wait three weeks for a new tip. either way i will just buy a certified pro X96 MC to use. when i buy a rod i dont buy a backup i never had to and i have several rods which most are lamiglas.

The reason that at times it can take up to three weeks to build a new top half is that not all built top halfs are universal. Being as all of the rods are built individually on the production line we will have to make build a whole new top half to exactly fit your butt section. Also the three weeks you were quoted is partly due to the fact that this week is Thanksgiving and production is only working two days.
As far as an upgrade goes, that is definitely an option however it was not brought up to you as we figured that you would like to just get a new top half to your butt section, being as it is so new. If you would like you can give us a call and we can discuss other options for you if you would like. That is your choice, have a great week.

thanks for replying back. i appreciate it. i understand not all tips are not universal i figured that when my son said he had to leave the lower section. i ordered a Si90mc online tonight thru a online retailer fish usa. as they said they called lamiglas today and you had a few in stock. hopefully they can get one from you or i will get the X96MC CERTIFIED PRO instead. i will stick with the xmg as the rod has good mojo on it for catching fish. wanted a si for a long time cant wait to try it. please let me know when the tip is finished i will have my son come and pick up the rod .thanks again
Funny the same thing happend to me. I called Lamiglas and spoke to a gal named Brittany and she was really nice and easy to work with. I just have to send it in. But I really like the way the XMG feels. I would have got the SI if it came in a 10-20 lbs rating.
