XCC 1064 and Tekota 600

Greetings,

I just replaced 2 XCF 904's with 2 XCC 1064's. When I went to put my Tekota 600 reels on them, I noticed they don't seem to fit the reel seat's very well. They barely fit in the fixed side. I am worried it will pop out. The reels fit very well in the 904's and I was told this was it's replacement.

Am I missing something?

Thanks
Don

The XCF is probably thinner

The XCF is probably thinner and therefore they put on a smaller reelseat. Saltwater based reels many time have a larger/wider reel foot that doesn't fit 16 and 17 mm reelseats well. These reelseats fit the narrower bass and inshore sized reels. The Abu 55-6500 are the narrow foot as are the Quantum Cabos, my older Shimano Charter Specials will fit a 17mm seat.
I've been known to modify the rear pocket with a dremel tool and small burr if I think I need the reel foot to seat a bit deeper on a close fit.

No one knows as much as all of us.

The Tekota series of reels

The Tekota series of reels are all built with larger (saltwater style) reel feet. They will work on your new XCC they are just a tight fit as you can see. I hope this helps.
