Could you recommend a one piece 9 or 9.5 foot honey colored Lamiglas fiberglass spinning rod blank for use on Long Island's south shore I will be using a Penn 5500ss and throwing up to 2oz lures.I already have a mb1083m which I feel is too light.Could you comment on mb1143f or bt 1083m or perhaps cutting down sb1213m to 9.5 feet?Thank you.

Cutting down the SB would probably give you the best action for what you are doing. It does however void the warranty. The MB1143f is nice for lighter lures around 1-1 1/2oz and would be my next choice.

I use a BT1083 for plugs in the 2 to 3 oz range and for live eels, it is a real nice rod, for lighter plugs 3/4 to 2 oz I use a GLB 1081M. This will throw plugs very nice and have nice action, they maybe graphite but it a good choice for all types of plugs.
