Rod tip guides fall out!...what to do?

I love Lamiglas rods!...I started with three competitors, two spin and one cast!...the spin's tip inserts came off on the first outing so I returned them to Sports Authority for exchange....and one of them did the same!...now I have stepped up to three Excel Bass!....one Cast and two spins!...love the rods but after my third outing noticed the guide inserts on the spins have also disappeared!...it's not worth it to me to send them in for replacement and the rods show wear so I cannot return them to the retailer so what can I do?...will it hurt my line or make a difference to cast or fish minus theses inserts?...has anyone else had this problem!

Hi Jake...today is Nov. 10th

Hi Jake...today is Nov. 10th and I received the rod tips you sent....however.....I can tell by looking and matching them up to my rods that are to small!...you asked the style of rod and I provided it but still a mistake was made somewhere along the way!.....I have two Excel 704S with a G12 mfg date!...I was hoping to have these rods repaired and ready for my trip to Utah on the 17th but doesn't look like that will happen but I hope we can still remedy this situation!

Let me know what can be done....and also....is this a repair I can do myself or a rod shop!

Tip top guide sizes are never

Tip top guide sizes are never the same size throughout a particular blank/rod model, Ive found them to usually be within one size either way from the listed size in the blank catalog, but there have been times they haven't been. They did the best they could for you without you measuring the size for them, best way is to stop by a custom rod builder in your area or a rodbuilding supply store and have the tips removed and replaced, usually it costs little more than the guide cost as it's fast and easy to do.
"Quality" sporting goods stores know the custom builders, as many also do repairs, and the supply stores nearby. Many also carry a supply of tip tops for repairs in the store, you just have to not expect the exact tip top all the time, as there are maybe 100 or more styles available from many manufacturers/distributors.

No one knows as much as all of us.

John, I would suggest that

John,

I would suggest that you take the course of action that spoonplugger suggested. However if you would like to send the rods back to us we can put new tip tops on for you free of charge, all we would need you to do is pay the shipping. Let us know what you would like to do. Have a great week.
