Depends on your price range and taste in either spinning or casting. My first in Washington was and 8'6" CG 86 MHC paired with a 251B Shimano Calcutta. Then I wound up buying my wife an 8'6" Norwest and pairing it with a Shimano Stradic 2500FH. Both rods are mid range priced but offer the maximum quality Lamiglas has to offer. Take your pick or better yet drive uup to their shop and get some good hands on from them. Like my old drill sergeant in the Army said, "Nothing but the best for the troops in the field". Good luck and tight lines!
