Hi Struggla,
The rod you have was made sometime around 1978. The blank used was a 2 pc. S-glass fiberglass blank. Its considered a Ultra-Lite Long Steelhead. Now, the following is the specs for the rod using the model number. SSH1441L The first S indicates the material (S-Glass). SH classifies the rod as Steelhead. 144 denotes the length in inches. The 1 tells you the rod's tip power and in your case it's Light. Nice setup. Remember that its pretty light duty.

THANKS MIKE THAT INFO WAS VERY HELPFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO YOU THINK THAT THIS ROD COULD WITHSTAND FISH IN THE 20# RANGE? OR WHAT KIND OF FISHING WOULD THIS ROD BE GOOD FOR....THANKS

I'm assuming here, that the rod is setup with spin or casting guides and not fly! Probably spin...in that case steelhead fishing using 2-6 lb. lines (could stretch to 8#) would handle a 20lb'r. And if you catch one that size, I expect a pic and a steak. Tight lines. Good luck.
