Advice on two rods

Hello all. I'm getting back into fishing after a long hiatus and looking to buying either a X 89 MTC or X 106 MHC for drifting, bobber, or throwing spinner and spoons. I'll be fishing on the river banks mostly (live in the Pacific Northwest) and not sure which one to choose from. I already own a 9' 6" 8-17lbs casting rod but want something a bit beefier that can handle Chinooks.

What is the difference between the two rods other than length?

Thanks

The biggest difference

The biggest difference between these two rods is the actions of the blanks. The 8'9" is a magnum taper fast action blank while the 10'6" is a bit of a slower blank. The 10'6" is a great option for float fishing however not a great option for spinners and spoons. The 8'9" would be your best option of the two for hardware. When in doubt get both right? Hope this helps.

That was helpful and thank

That was helpful and thank you for the response back. I may end up getting both like you said. :)
